Who is Progressive Leasing, and what do we do?

Progressive Leasing has provided a unique NO CREDIT NEEDED lease-purchase option for both stores and customers for over 15 years. We offer a lease-purchase program that is an alternative to traditional financing.

What is lease-to-own?

Lease-to-own is a rental-purchase option that allows you to buy your merchandise today and pay for it over time with easy monthly payments.

What is the difference between a finance option and lease-purchase option?

Financing: Allows you to borrow money to obtain goods or services now and make future payments with interest. Approval for credit and even the type of credit obtained may be based upon your credit score.

Lease-purchase: A lease-purchase option allows you to take possession of an item in return for periodic payments. There is no interest charged on a lease-purchase option. You may be approved regardless of your credit history. Make regular scheduled payments (flexible payment options are available.) , or utilize an early purchase option. What can I lease?

Leasable items include major appliances, patio furniture and seasonal goods.

What if the item I would like to lease is out of stock?

Ask a store associate if the store can order the merchandise for you. Once the item is in stock, return and complete your lease transaction. If the item you want is available at another location, and if it is the same merchant, you may be able to resume your application at the new location and complete your lease transaction. Some restrictions and exclusions may apply.

What information do I need to get started?

The application process is easy and should only take about 5 minutes to complete. This is what you will need to apply:

1. Source of income
2. Your bank routing and checking account numbers
3. A credit card or debit card

What is the Process? How do I get started with a lease-purchase option today?

1. Complete an application. See what items you will need to get started here.
2. If approved, go shopping for leasable items.
3. Review, sign your lease and make the initial payment.
4. Check out and get your item(s) today.

How long is my approval good for?

Approvals are good for up to 90 days. If you need to step away for any reason, you can resume your application or finalize your lease at any time.

Are any payments due immediately?

A small up front initial payment will be collected during the lease creation process from your debit or credit card provided within the application.

When do my payments begin?

Your next payment will not be due until at least 10 days after you receive the merchandise.

How does the 90-day buyout work?

The 90-day buyout is our most popular payment option, and the easiest way for you to save. You will complete your lease and own the merchandise if you pay the 90-day price, listed in your lease agreement, within 90 days.

What if I can’t pay off in 90 days?

If you can’t pay the total lease balance off in 90 days, you may simply continue to make your scheduled lease payments until the end of your term. You may also pay the full balance of your lease off early at any time to save. Call us at (877) 898-1970 for more details.

How can I use my remaining approval amount?

Simply start a new application at any Progressive Leasing kiosk by clicking “Get Started” or by clicking here. Most of your information will be pre-populated, but for your safety some of your information will need to be re-entered. Review and update any missing or outdated information and click “Submit” to see if you are able to use any remaining approval amount*.

Can you go to jail for not paying Progressive Leasing? ›

While failure to pay Progressive Leasing is not a criminal offense, it is possible that you could end up in jail if you fail to respond to legal action taken by the company.

Does Progressive Leasing hurt your credit? ›

Applying for a lease-to-own agreement with Progressive Leasing should not impact your FICO score; however, we do look at credit bureau reports, and this inquiry may appear on your credit report.

What items do not qualify for Progressive Leasing? ›

Non-leasable item principles
  • Items permanently attached to a home, vehicle, or appliance. ...
  • Items prohibited from lease-to-own state law. ...
  • Consumable items or items that may quickly lose value. ...
  • Items principally used for commercial, wholesale, or investment purposes.

Can you get denied for Progressive Leasing? ›

Denied: If your application is initially denied, you may have the option to overturn your denial. If you are interested in the possibility of overturning your denial, please first check your email. If you receive an email from Progressive Leasing, please complete the instructions in your email.

How long can you go without paying Progressive Leasing? ›

You have a 10-day grace period after you receive your merchandise where no payments will be scheduled. Your payment frequency is based on the payday schedule you provided during your lease-to-own application. You will also receive a payment reminder email prior to each scheduled payment.

Can I skip a payment on Progressive Leasing? ›

If you need to stop a payment for any reason, please call us at least 3 business days before your next scheduled payment, and we will help you reschedule it. If you have missed the 3 business day deadline, we are unable to make any changes to your payment and your payment will still be processed.

The Attorney General sued Progressive in August 2022, alleging that Progressive had failed to comply with the Rental Purchase Agreement Act that required lessors to place physical tags — with complete financing cost information — on goods offered for rent.
